Here at Fullonjoomla.com I'm not only going to attempt to learn Joomla, on the way I'm going to try and document as much as I can on this site so that as many people as possible will be able to learn from my experiences and pick up tips from my mistakes.
I know a bit about Joomla and have messed around with it a bit in the past but I have never seriously got into it and used it with any anger, It has always been something that I've wanted to get into and now I feel the time has come to jump in feet first, bite the bullet and all that jazz...
Currently the site is very thin on the ground, with just a few live articles. I'm hoping I can change this and I'm also going to be looking at giving the site a bit of a face lift at some point however can't say when that will be.
I hope you find the information on this site useful and look forward to hearing your feedback about my site, well at some point I will get something in place so you can feed back... I promise!
A little about me... I have been working with computers all my working life, mainly supporting the Operating Systems and Hardware, unfortunately that Operating System was normally Windows however lets not get side tracked on that one. I have always messed around making websites for people and have also looked after some sites from a managerial point of view, my friends and family would definitely call me a "Geek". Now I think its time that I start my own site and start sharing some of the knowledge that I have gained on my journey through work life so far.
My experiences with Joomla so far has been very little, I have altered templates and hacked away in the background to change the way some of the links are built however I feel i'm still very new to Joomla and have much to learn.
Of the bits I have worked on, I've found them fun as well as frustrating sometimes, Joomla seems to be and is very powerful and adaptable but some things can end up being quite complex when I fist thought they would be easy (How wrong I can be!).
There are companies out there that will happily charge you for them to build, fix or customize a Joomla site for you however Joomla is free and open source so if you have the time and the patience you should be able to work things out yourself hopefully you will find information on this site that will help you in your journey with Joomla and help you avoid having to pay someone else (or a company) to help with your Joomla installation.
